ABOUT CCNM-BOUCHER CAMPUS COUNSELLING SERVICES

CCNM-Boucher Campus Student Services is pleased to offer free short term counselling (1-7 sessions) to CCNM-Boucher Campus Students. Student Services sees each student holistically, and understand that difficulties in your personal life have the capacity to impact your ability to be successful at CCNM-Boucher Campus.

Sometimes you just need someone to listen. Or sometimes, you need to understand and adjust the underlying themes in your life. Or maybe you have a question about your work in the clinic. We are here to help you live to your full potential. Our goal is to help you be the best ND possible.

Our office is located on the ground floor of the CCNM-Boucher building, next to the Columbia SkyTrain entrance. When attending an in-person session on site, use your fob to enter into the mediation/counselling space, and take a seat in the waiting area outside of the counselling offices. You may sign in to your appointment virtually with your phone using the QR code provided in the waiting area. Your counsellor will come out and greet you at the time of your appointment.

When to seek counselling?

Brief and short-term counselling is best suited to acute periods of distress, where there may be mild to moderate difficulty of daily life activities (such as sleep disturbances, lack of motivation, anxiety, etc.) over the course of a 2-3 weeks. Therefore it is best to meet with a counsellor early on if you have concerns about your mental health. However, any time you think it may help is the best time to reach out! No problem is too big or too small.

If you have questions on whether counselling is right for you, please schedule a brief 15 min. consult HERE to talk to the student counsellor about options.
